Amortized Mold Cost

The mold cost spread across all parts over the mold's lifetime. Higher volumes and longer mold life reduce this per-part adder significantly.

Gross Margin

The percentage of selling price that represents profit after deducting all production and amortized mold costs. Target 40%+ for healthy margins.

Return on Investment (ROI)

Total lifetime profit as a percentage of total investment (mold + production costs). Higher ROI means better use of capital.

Breakeven Volume

The number of parts you need to sell before the mold investment is recovered. Lower is better. Compare this to your first year volume projection.
