A process windowyou can defend, set on your press.

The tool arrives, the first shots look fine, and three months later scrap is climbing and nobody can say why. MoldMinds process engineers set the job scientifically, document the window, run the DOE and the validation, and stand on the floor at your molder or at the partner shop until the process holds. Delivered by our process engineering team in Mexico and the US.

Process engineering from first shot to validated production.

Each engagement ends with a document your molder can run from and your quality team can audit against.

Scientific molding setup

Viscosity curve, cavity balance, pressure drop, gate seal and cooling studies to set fill, pack and cool on data instead of habit. Decoupled molding where the part and machine support it.

Process window and DOE

Designed experiments around melt temperature, pack pressure, hold time and cooling to find the window that keeps dimensions and cosmetics inside spec with margin.

Mold trials at the partner shop

T0 to T2 trials run and witnessed by our engineers at the shop that built the tool, with the setup sheet and samples shipped to you before the mold does.

Validation support

IQ, OQ and PQ protocols, capability studies, PPAP and FAI paperwork assembled with your quality team, in the format your customer expects.

Troubleshooting on the floor

Short shots, flash, sink, warp, splay, sticking, cycle creep. Root cause on the press, fix documented, process re-centered.

Cycle and scrap reduction

Cooling, ejection and pack optimization on running tools, with the before and after measured so the saving is real.

How an engagement runs

01

Scope

Part, resin, press, current process sheet and the problem or the launch date. Fixed scope and price.

02

Studies

The scientific molding study set, run on your press or at the partner shop.

03

Window and DOE

Process window documented. DOE where the part or the spec demands it.

04

Validate

IQ, OQ, PQ and capability data with your quality team.

05

Hand over

Setup sheet, process window, troubleshooting guide, and a call with your technicians.

What you receive

  • Documented process window and setup sheet
  • Study data: viscosity, balance, pressure drop, gate seal, cooling
  • DOE report where scoped
  • IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and capability study support
  • Troubleshooting guide for your technicians
  • Before and after cycle and scrap numbers

Process engineering questions, answered.

What is scientific molding, and why does it matter for my program?

Scientific molding sets the process on measured data: how the resin fills, where the pressure drops, when the gate seals, how long the part needs to cool. A process set that way has a documented window with margin, so it survives resin lot changes, operator changes and a different press. A process set by feel does not.

Can you fix a process on a tool you did not build?

Yes. Most troubleshooting work is on tools we never saw before. We need the part, the resin, the current setup sheet and time on the press. If the root cause is in the steel, we say so and scope the tool fix with our tooling engineers.

Do you support IQ/OQ/PQ for medical or automotive programs?

Yes. We write and run the protocols with your quality team, in your format, and the capability data comes from the documented process window, not from a one-off good day.

Where is the Mexico team based, and who do they serve?

Our process engineers in Mexico support plants in Mexico and US customers close to the border, in English and Spanish. For a US plant further north, a US or Mexico engineer travels for the engagement.

How is this different from what my molder already does?

Your molder sets a process to make parts today. We set a process your molder can hold for years, document it, and give your quality team the data to prove it. We are on your side of the table, not the molder's.

What does an engagement cost?

Fixed scope and fixed price, quoted after we see the part, the resin and the problem. Most engagements are quoted within one business day.

Send the setup sheet and the defect photos.

A process engineer reads them and replies with what we would do next, within one business day.
